2016 World Laser 4.7 Youth Championships Conclude

by

Australia had a large team of 16 sailors competing at the Youth Championships in Kiel, Germany supported by Australian Sailing Team Youth Coaches, Luke Elliott and Tristan Brown.

Brown said that the youth contingent had long days on the water but still managed to perform to the best of their abilities.

“With long sails to and from the race course it turned out to be a bit of a marathon event,” Brown said. “It was not uncommon for to be spending seven plus hours on the water each day which was a big effort.”

The Australian Sailors gained significant experience from the world event and they have now competed against the best sailors from around the world in their respective divisions.

Competing Australian Sailors will now embark on another year of training for the 2017 World Championships.
