Youth sailors prepare for State and National Championships

A busy couple of months are on the cards for up-and-coming Australian youth sailors as they prepare for the 2017 Australian Youth Championships.
Queensland Youth Week sets sail at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron on July 1, through until July 5. The Sunshine State hosted regatta showcases the best sailing talent in Queensland tying in Youth Week celebrations and activities.

The annual Springsail Regatta will be on again at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club, Victoria. Split into a Regatta (17-18 September) and a Coaching Clinic (19-20 September) this event offers high quality coaching for junior and youth sailors and racing for all ages.
Queensland are also in the early stages of again activating the Queensland Youth Championships with Keppel Bay Sailing Club locked in to host the championships from September 23 to 25.
New South Wales are next in line with their Youth Championships set to be host by Georges River Sailing Club over the long weekend in October. The Championship will run from Saturday October 1 to Monday October 3 with another large fleet of young sailors expected to take part.
All State youth events culminate at the premier national youth sailing event, the Australian Youth Championships at Adelaide Sailing Club from January 10 to 14. Last year more than 160 boats and 230 competitors from across the country were joined by sailors from Japan and New Zealand took part, with a strong contingent expected in January.
